This is the best show on both sides of Pakistani and Indian border. Everyday before sunset the finest guards at the Wagah border perform an impressive ceremony watched by a very enthusiastic audience of both countries. Pakistan even has an old man who carries the flag around and leads the crowd in cheering. Muhamad said the old man has been part of the ceremony for as long as he can remember.

The soldiers, "chosen for their drop-dead good looks," march and open the gates between the two countries. Guards from both sides shake hands and try to outdo each other in terms of marching, yelling, and glowering. The crowd cheer them on. And when the taps are played, they cross their flags and lower these. Considering the wars fought between these two countries, for at least an hour every day it's nice to witness this touching ceremony and know all is well in this part of the world.
